Issahaku: Tanko wants Ghana opportunities for Salzburg-linked teenage prodigy

Ghana B mentor Tanko has encouraged A group supervisor CK Akonnor to give newcomer Abdul Fatawu more freedoms to show his value at the most elevated level.

Soon after winning the Best Player grant at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations competition in Tanzania a month ago where the Black Satellites won the cup, the 17-year-old was immediately given a lady senior Ghana call-up in front of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying twofold header against South Africa and São Tomé.

Back from the competition, he was expeditiously elevated to the U20 side for the U20 Afcon in March, where he scored twice to help Ghana win the competition.

He could be given a second senior Ghana call-up for the 2022 World Cup qualifying twofold header against Ethiopia and South Africa in June.
