Hearts, Kotoko to miss key players in Sunday's Super Clash in Accra

Reigning Ghana Premier League, (GPL) champions, Accra Hearts of Oak and their great rivals Asante Kotoko will both miss some key players in Sunday's game in the capital.

The Phobians will welcome Kotoko to the Accra Sports Stadium in a GPL outstanding encounter postponed from Matchday Seven.

This fixture will officially end the first round of the 2021-22 campaign and, both teams will have to do without some key figures.

Hearts of Oak' midfield talisman Salifu Ibrahim is a long time absentee for the Phobians after he picked up an injury in their away game against Karela United about a month ago and will sit out this game as he continues with his recovery.

The Phobians will also be without defender Caleb Amankwah who was red-carded in their last game with RTU in Tamale last Sunday.

Key defender, Mohamed Alhassan is also a doubt for this game after sitting out the game with RTU due to a reported injury.

Winger Patrick Razak is having issues with the capital club and it's most likely he will miss this game having not played for the Phobians for about a month now.

Asante Kotoko also have issues with some of their players with Brazilian poster boy Fabio Gama not likely to be rushed into this fixture as he has just returned to training after a couple of months out with injury.

Forward Isaac Oppong is in a similar position as Fabio Gama having not played for the record Ghana champions since December.

The Porcupines have already lost goalkeeper Razak Abalora and winger Joseph Amoako to European clubs in the transfer window and will not be part of this fixture.

Despite these players being unavailable, both sides are expected to present strong squads for this encounter which is the biggest on the Ghanaian football calendar.
