Chelsea news and transfers recap: Premier League meeting, Haaland warning, £81m Newcastle move

Chelsea's Premier League return is now just three days away with a west London derby against Brentford on the horizon.

Thomas Tuchel's men sit top of the Premier League table with seven games played but Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all hovering close.

The Bees occupy seventh place having made a strong start to life in the top-flight but if the Blues can maintain the form shown by some of their stars over the international break, they should be just fine.

Kai Havertz and Timo Werner were both on target for Germany on Monday night while Romelu Lukaku scored an excellent Nations League goal for Belgium against France over the weekend.

Even loanee Conor Gallagher continued his classy season for England's under 21's.

But ahead of the Brentford clash, there is sure to be plenty of news, speculation and drama from Stamford Bridge with Eden Hazard, Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni all on the agenda.

With that all in mind, make sure to stay tuned throughout the day for live updates from the European Champions.

Goodnight!

Unfortunately, that's all we have time for this evening.

Thank you for joining us but make sure you return bright and early tomorrow for even more.
