Just In: Accra Hearts Of Oaks Will Not Travel To Conakry

Good news have hit the camp of Ghanain side Accra Hearts Of Oaks as they are not traveling to Conakry to play the Guinea side CL Kamsar in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League first leg tie on September 12, 2021.

This is because, the first leg tie in Conakry has been cancelled in view of the political instability as Guinean military leader broadcast a statement on Sunday announcing that Guinea's Constitution has been dissolved in an apparent coup.

Residents have been told to remain indoors, while the military are still present in the streets and have taken control of the country's land and air borders.

Following this unpleasant happening in Guinea, Confederation of African Football (CAF) considered the safety of players and match officials.

The Organising Committee of the Competition has decided that the match which was scheduled to be played in Guinea on September 2 this weekend will not take place.

Accra Hearts of Oak SC will only play CL Kamsar in a single match on September 19, 2021 at the Accra Sports Stadium with the winner of the tie automatically advancing to the next stage of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League.

I think our darling club Accra Hearts Of Oak should play another international friendly match with one of the serious West African teams in order to keep the team shape well.
