The coming of Xavi Hernandez brings in a fresh eternity at Barcelona and there will be a couple of players for whom it could give a perfect slate and an opportunity to change to establish after striving or playing less than they would have wanted under Ronald Koeman.

There is a tremendous general impression of optimism around the club, but for some specific players, there are even further reasons to feel fortunate about the managerial transition.

Xavi's ruling that every player will be starting from an equal place and have an equal chance to impress him will have been music to the ears of some members of his team.

Neto

Koeman wasn't an enthusiast of having a 'cup goalkeeper' so the Brazilian ' goalies were greatly out of the picture, even when on the bench always. It continues to be seen what Xavi's viewpoint on the goalkeeping problem will be, but for Neto, things could barely get any awful.

Samuel Umtiti

The French defender has lived as a ghost for over two years, troubled by injuries and not assisted by controversy with the club, who had attempted to push his exit. If Xavi's "everyone begins from zero" is truly the case then Umtiti is certainly in line for a next chance, particularly given the state of the Blaugrana defense this year.

Clement Lenglet

The ex Sevilla man's ticket was considerable this season under Koeman due to his performances in the previous season. A clean slate would be approved by the Frenchman, who had declined to fourth selection at center-back behind Gerard PiqueRonald Araujo, and Eric Garcia.

Ousmane Dembele

Unlike some of the others on this list, Koeman did acknowledge Dembele, but injuries have carried him behind, especially this season. Xavi has already spoken nicely of him and he will be keen to knock the ground running under the fresh manager.

Riqui Puig

The subsequent head coach has refused to bring the academy graduate, now 22 years old, a crucial part of their plans but he has stayed determined to dwell hail a new start. As a midfielder, Xavi was his hero and you can bet few will be also encouraged to influence him.

Philippe Coutinho

The most valuable signing in Barcelona's record and yet to execute anywhere near the standard wanted of him, but if Xavi can get a tune out of the past Liverpool man, Blaugrana fans will be singing his applause as they dance to the Samba beat. Coutinho seems interested in the recent coach, let's see if Xavi has big agendas for him.

Among these players whom do you think will succeed when given the second chance?
