The Accra mayor, Honorable Mohammed Adjei Sowah, has partnered up with foreign organizations to create a basket ball court in Jamestown, Accra, to offer jobs for the young of developing countries. The major goal of this project is to provide a convenient environment for young people who want to become basketball players in the country without having to travel outside of the country to do so.
"It is a terrific chance for the young who are skilled in basketball playing," remarked Accra Mayor Honorable Mohammed Adjei Sowah during the opening of the newly built facility. This is not the end, for there are several initiatives taking place around the country under the direction and supervision of the Ga- Mashie Development Agency, which is an Accra Metropolitan Assembly agency.
"We're also determined to put more money into the boxing scene here so that Bukom Jamestown can produce world-class boxers. There is also a training session for budding talent here, as well as an art gallery for artists. We also provided a practice area for cultural groups. Furthermore, we have chosen to convert this space into a multipurpose community center so that all of the events that take place here may be well-coordinated and administered with adequate expenditure."
