Hasaacas Ladies Visit Her Excellency Madam Rebecca Akuffo Addo

Hasaacas ladies paid a courtesy visit to the office of the first lady of Ghana Her Excellency Madam Rebecca Akuffo Addo . Their visit was to present the three trophies they won , The Womens Premier league, FA Cup and WAFU tournament . The meeting was attended by some prominent members of Ghalca , The Women’s league chairperson as well as a representative from the Ministry of Youth and sports amongst others .


Her Excellency Madam Rebecca Akuffo Addo welcomed the team nicely and expressed joy in having the champions at her office. The first lady made reference on how she didn’t follow football but upon seeing the wonderful exploits done by the young ladies she will make sure to keenly keep an eye on the upcoming league and women’s football in general. She also made known of her availability to women and children affairs which has been her main focus and has a foundation for that. 


After the presentation of the trophies to the first lady, Her Excellency presented a sum of 30,000gh to the team and a cloth each for every member of the Hasaacas Ladies team. The cloth is one which helps talk about her foundation concerning women and children empowerment. 


GHALCA Chairman Mr Kudjoe Fianoo revealed that a match is going to be played in honor of the First Lady which would be called the First Lady’s Cup just like the Presidents Cup which is played yearly. This years match will be played on 21st November and it will be held on Women’s day from next year.


Hasaacas Ladies have started preparations to go respresent Ghana in Egypt where the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League will be held. Coach Yusif Basigi says the meeting with the First Lady is extra motivation for them to do very well in the tournament.


The CAF Women’s Champions League is scheduled to commence in November.
