The Porcupine Warriors will be hosted by the Anyinase based club in week five of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday. Kotoko have started the season a brighter note having gone four matches without a defeat - scoring eight goals and conceding just one in the process. They occupy the top spot of the league table with 12 points but face a daunting task against Karela United in Anyinase. Prosper Narteh Ogum says he is not under pressure to ahead of the all important clash.
“There is no pressure on us to win this game and we are taking it cool as we prepare for the game on Sunday,” Ogum said. “We take it match after match so there is no pressure on us. “I think the [fans] should keep their cool and calm. They should be patient and should try as much as possible to be supportive as they have always been. “It is a game model we are trying to develop for Asante Kotoko and it’s a blend of old and new guys. So I am appealing to them to be supportive as they have always and also trust the process,” he added.
Asante Kotoko started the season on a very good note after coming from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The went ahead to record a 2-0 win over Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium in week two. The winning run continued after traveling to Bibiani to pip new premier league boys, Gold Stars by 1-0 before recording a 2-0 home win over Eleven Wonders in week four at the Baba Yara Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors will turn attention to the week five game against Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase.
