"I'm ready to rise out of the ashes", says Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi. The entire team needs to rise out of the ashes. The full team should be worked on psychologically. Hearts of Oak have endured a horrible African campaign in the last few months in North Africa. 10-1 on aggregate! Yes, 10-1 on aggregate defeat in two games against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and JS Saoura of Algeria. The defending champions are languishing at the bottom of the table although they have three games in hand. Their first league fixture since the 1-1 draw against in-form Aduana Stars at Accra Sports Stadium. They are travelling to Elmina to face one of the most struggling and inconsistent teams in the league. They have just 7 points in 7 games. They are struggling to score goals. Just 7 goals scored, 12 conceded and are two points away from the relegation zone. How will they fare against the helpless Hearts of Oak? Will this fixture be the turning point for the under-pressure Samuel Boadu?
2. Accra Lions vs King Faisal
Rainer Kraft left his role as the head coach of Accra Lions last week due to poor performance away from home. James Francis, the interim manager suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Kerala. Accra Lions have been far better at home. 2 wins, one draw in 3 home games. They are undefeated at home. They will host the high flying Coach Nurudeen Ahmed's sensational team. Things are rosy for the Insha Allahu boys. They are on top of the table, what a fantastic moment for Alhaji Grusha. King Faisal are not missing Kwame Peprah thanks to the surprise package of the season so far, Ibrahim Zubairu. He alongside Ibrahim Osman are each on 4 goals.
3. Asante Kotoko vs Real Tamale United.
It used to be an epic encounter. Kotoko was shocked by King Faisal in their last game. How will they fare? How will they bounce back psychologically? Asante Kotoko has collected only 1 point from the last 6 points. They can not afford to drop any point now. They rested this weekend and should be physically and mentally be prepared for this fixture. Real Tamale United suffered their first home defeat against Medeama. They are yet to lose back to back games. They have a bona fide scoring midfielder in David Sandan Abagna. He is a threat and Ishmael Ganiyu and co should keep an eye on him. Anticipate a good game.
4. Dreams vs Karela
Karela comes to this game with enough confidence. The 3-0 massacre of Accra Lions at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park was fantastic. They are playing against a team full of very good forward players; Fatau Ishahaku, Ali Huzaif, Boateng Agyenim Mensah. They have scored a combined 11 goals. When they get their day, any defence will suffer. Dreams FC will be disappointed not to walk away with all the 3 points at Techiman against Eleven Wonders. Expect Dreams to bang in the goals against Karela. Karela United are bad when they are playing away. They are without an away win in their last 13 games spanning from last season.
5. Medeama vs Legon Cities
Medeama is unbeaten since the 4-0 humiliation they suffered in the opening weekend of the season. Coach Umar Rabi will love his lads to continue their unbeaten run against poor Legon Cities. Maxwell konadu on the other hand is winless in five games. They are yet to score in their last 3 games. They can not afford to lose against Medeama on Wednesday. Maxwell Konadu is under immense pressure after that dull goalless drawn game against Berekum Chelsea.
6. Bechem United vs Eleven Wonders
Bechem United have a 100% record at home. Nana Gyeabour's Park is a fortress now. 3 wins, 9 goals scored, 1 only conceded. They are worse away from home but extremely good at home. Mingle Ocansey Kasim has been shortlisted for the manager of November. He is there simply because of his terrific home performance.
Eleven Wonders stoppage-time equaliser against Dreams FC at home was good considering they almost lost the game. They have lost their last two away games and are yet to score an away goal in three games so far. Coach Evans Adotey should start picking up points away from home because they can not rely on Ohene Ameyaw Stadium in Techiman only for points.
7. Ashgold vs Aduana
What a fixture this one promises to be. Ashgold got a morale booster 1-0 victory in Sogakope. A place they got humiliated by 6-1 in the truncated league in 2020. They went into that fixture after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Legon Cities at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
Seth Osei's goal at the WAFA Park was all that they needed ahead of Aduana's visit. Asare Bediako is a comfortable man now. Four straight wins in the last four games are awesome. Bright Adjei is in the form of his life. Formal Kotoko skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi is having a wonderful campaign. They both have 4 goals apiece. Aside from them, Eric Kwakwa, Hafiz Adams, Sam Adams, Abass Mohammed and Yahaya Mohammed are all having great moments. This fixture is my match of the week. Expect fireworks from both sides.
8. Accra Great Olympics vs Bibiani Gold Stars
Annor Walker sobbed on officiating in their 1-0 defeat at Dormaa. Time for the Dade Boys to win. They are winless in their last four, with two defeats, two draws. They have the league's top scorer: Maxwell Nii Abbey Quaye with six goals. Scored 6 goals in his first 3 games. He hasn't scored in his last 3.
Prince Owusu is Bibiani Gold Stars' top scorer with three goals. He scored the winner in their victory over Bechem United. They are winless away from home albeit they have scored in all those three away games. Micheal Osei and his lads should now focus on getting points away from home because there is a sureness at Dun's Park.
9. Berekum Chelsea vs WAFA
Two beleaguered sides, occupying 16th and 17th positions respectively. Two of the three poor teams per the log are clashing at the Golden City Park. Berekum Chelsea is the least entertaining team in the league. They have scored just goals and conceded four. The sacking of Abdul Henan is yet to prove anything meaningful.
Guillermo Zaragoza on the other hand is yet to hit the ground running for WAFA. They are in the relegation zone and are in a transition after losing their apt coach Prosper Narteh Ogum to Kotoko. They also lost Enock Asubonteng and Augustine Boakye to Hearts of Oak and Wolfsberger respectively. WAFA won this fixture home and away last season. Can they repeat that feat? Justus Tortsutsey has scored 50% of their goals. He is their main man now and should start justifying it.
