Hearts of Oak top GPL table for the first time in five years

Accra Hearts of Oak have gone top of the Ghana Premier League for the first time this season.

The rainbow boys defeated Techiman Eleven Wonders by a goal to nil to go top of the league.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior's 26th minutes strike from a defensive error was enough to earn the Phobians all three points.

Hearts have won their last four matches in the league and for the first time in the season, won back-to-back home and away matches.

Hearts have played one more game than their arch-rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, who are second on the league log.

This is the first time the Phobians have topped the league in five years with 46 points as against Kotoko's 45 points.

It has been more than 9 years since Hearts last won the premier league.

The players are determined to win this year's league to appease their teaming supporters who have not seen the club win any significant trophy in 10 years.
