Hearts of Oak were scheduled to play the traditional cup match with their rivals on Sunday 7th August at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, according to the report, the reason provided for the postponement of the match was due to the fact that Hearts of Oak resumed training just last week and would need more time to allow the team prepare adequately before the face their rivals. A notice received by the reports indicated that the Phobia Club wanted to postpone the match to the 28th of August as the team is currently not ready.
A source at the offices of the organizers noted that the game will be postponed. The source said “We received a letter from Hearts of Oak stating that the team is not ready to honor the game on Sunday. We are yet to meet the stakeholders and see the way forward”.
