Stephen Ambrosius snubs Ghana to accept Germany U-21 call-up

Stephen Ambrosius snubs Ghana to accept Germany U-21 call-up. German born Ghanaian international Stephen Ambrosius has rejected Ghana’s call-up for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against South Africa and Soa Tome.

The center back who was born in Hamburg, Germany to Ghanaian parents is eligible to feature for both Ghana and Germany. Stephen was on Thursday handed a call-up by the technical handlers of the Black Stars for the two crucial games.

However, Ghana have been dealt a huge blow after the Hamburg center back rejected the call-up and rather opted to honour a call-up by German U-21 gaffer Stefan Kuntz for their European Championship games against Hungary, Netherlands and Romania.

Despite the central defender choosing the German U21s over Ghana, he’s still eligible to play for the Black Stars until he makes three competitive appearances for the Germany senior National team.
