PSG signs Renato Sanches from Lille

The Portuguese midfielder, whose agreement lapses in 2023, has joined the French giants on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of 15 million euros.

After making a name for himself at Benfica, Sanches joined Bayern Munich for 35 million euros in 2016. However, Sanches failed to live up to expectations in 53 appearances for the Bavarian side, Sanches was loaned out to Swansea City, before moving and rediscovering his riddim at Lille.

PSG beat AC Milan to his signature and will play alongside Vitinha, Marco Verratti, and Danilo Pereira in the French midfield.

This will be Sanches' second spell with Christophe Galtier after the two recently worked at Lille. His former coach and Luis Campos were a central justification for why the Portuguese midfielder picked PSG over the Italian side.

"I'm certain that I've gone with the ideal decision by getting paperwork done for the club," Sanches told the PSG site.

"I picked Paris Saint-Germain on the grounds that I feel that it's the best undertaking for me.

"Remaining in France meant quite a bit to me, as I probably am aware of this association as of now."
