Mensah rose from the bench to notch home from close range in match day 16 at the Carl Reindorf Park on Wednesday, February 24.
The 75th minute strike was the only goal that separated the two sides.
Isaac Mensah said about the goal:“If you know you can do something, you will never give up.
“When I was on the bench too, I was studying the game but first of all you know I have tried out at Liberty before.
Mensah who has become super-substitute for the Phobians once tried out at Liberty Professionals but the technical team of the Scientific Soccer Lads overlooked his qualities.
The 25-year-old says Liberty made a mistake by not signing him after the try-out.
“Because I went there [Liberty Professionals ]but they did not sign me.
“So it is like a challenge between me and them.
“So I told myself that if I go there, I will do something and they will see that, “we made a mistake for not signing this boy”.
“So that game I was to score them so when I got that goal I was so very happy.” Isaac Mensah told GTV SportsPlus.
Isaac Mensah joined the Phobians in July last year from lower-tier club, Nkoranza Warriors in a 3-year deal.
Accra Hearts of Oak are 5th on the Ghana Premier League table.
