Ghana football has been riddled with hooliganism for a long time. The lower leagues are mostly the culprits of such hooligans. We should not sit and fold our arms for the worst to happen before we take action. Punitive measures are not taken against perpetrators of such acts therefore they are doing it continuously without fear. The football must stand up. Look at the case involving RTU. What has happened to those involved?

During the division 1 league clash between Tema Youth and Liberty Professionals, the centre referee Selorm Yao Bless was assaulted by a fan after he intervened during an altercation between that fan and the assistant referee. It took the invention of the security personnel on duty to prevent a further escalation. Why should these things still be happening in our football? Are we progressing or retrogressing? I just hope that the fan who attacked the referee will be arrested and punished severely.
