Europa League

Troubles Hits Ajax FC as Key Player banned from Football and new signing misses Europa Squad List.

Ajax confirms that Sebastién Haller will NOT play in the Europa League Knockout Stages due to an administrative error made within the club during the making of the squad list.

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag said he takes full responsibilities for the error together with technical director Marc Overmars and will try to rectify it.

Erik ten Hag added: " it is ofcourse incredibly annoying, Haller was indeed on the list but it is an administrative error. Something went wrong with the computers, just a mark on and off".

Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana is banned from football for 12 months after failing a drugs test last October.

Ajax managing director Edwin van der Sar reacts to the issue with a statement:

"On the morning of October 30, Onana was feeling unwell. He wanted to take a pill to ease the discomfort. "Unknowingly, however, he took Lasimac, a drug that his wife had previously been prescribed."

Andre Onana subsequently failed an out of competition drug test.

Ajax and Andre Onana said they will appeal the decision to (CAS) Court of Arbitration for Sports.
