Lionel Messi started this Copa America in style by opening the scoring against Chile with a splendid free kick. The Argentina captain overtook Ronaldo, becoming the active player with the most goals scored from free kicks.
However, this time around it's the Argentinian that has broken another fantastic record by topping his counterpart to become the player with the highest number of scorer of goals score with a free-kick.
For his 57th goal from a free kick, the Pulga broke another career record. Lionel Messi overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored 56 free-kick goals so far. For Argentina, the number 10 Blaugrana reached the fitfty seven free-kick mark, including 50 for Barcelona. Cristiano Ronaldo meanwhile, scored 32 free-kick goals for Real Madrid, 13 for Manchester United, 10 for Portugal and just 1 for Juventus.
