Former Black Stars Footballer Olabode Williams struggling in life after he couldn't proceed his career because of injury. He was expected to do more for Ghana but it didn't happen as his colleague Abedi Pele had the chance to played at international level
Herbert Williams Olabode was once a hero in the year 1990. The 1985 goal- scoring hero for Hassacas and also a former player for Accra Great Olympics. He is one of national team player who devoted his time and energy to play but he has been sidelined because he couldn't do much for the country
Olabode gave his all to the Black Stars at the time out of a genuine desire to a bit of his country. But now he has become a pauper.
The Crime Check Foundation, through their programmes which include health check series and philanthropy (charity series), donated some amount of money to take care of himself. If we continue to treat our heroes this way, we only help to flower the entrenched perception that Ghana is not worth dying for. Our heroes deserve better because of the new generation.
The country must put measures in place to prevent this menace where our heroes are neglected. Former player becoming extremely poor or eligible for public charity.
