We usually interchange the words Coaches and Managers. The difference is very simple.

Coaches are those who train the players to become best for their football team or club. Coaches prepares the players for managers to use.

Every standard team or club have coaches for each position. Richard Kingston was was appointed as the head coach of Goalkeepers for the Black Stars of Ghana. Henry was appointed as the strikers coach for Belgium which has improved the performance of Romelu Lukaku significantly.

Now let us look at who is a manager.

Managers are those who makes decision for who to play and whom not to play, the position they play and how many minutes to play. They are sometimes called Head Coaches.

The likes of José Mourinho, Pep Gurdiola, Thomas Tuchel, Carlos Ancelloti, Kwesi Appiah and other well known personalities are all mangers not coaches.

Managers always sign for clubs with their backroom staff who serves as coaches for various positions.

The difference is just in what each of them does (responsibilities).
