Twitter explodes as Arsenal kick-off new season with hard-fought 2-0 win over Crystal Palace

On August 5, at Crystal Palace, in their first Premier League game of the year, the revamped Arsenal team won convincingly 2-0.

As a result of an outstanding run by newly acquired Gabriel Jesus, the Gunners made the first meaningful opportunity of the match. However, Gabriel Martinelli missed a clear opportunity when his attempt was stopped.

A second fresh signer Soon after, Oleksandr Zinchenko's respectable shot was parried away

Throughout the first session, Mikel Arteta's team dominated the majority of the action. When Martinelli poked home after some poor Palace defense from a corner, they eventually seized the lead. Zinchenko had a fantastic first half for his new squad before his header helped set up the goal in the 20th minute.

The Gunners took a deserving lead into halftime despite a few shaky moments, notably some wayward kicks from goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

However, Granit Xhaka's flagrant dive near the end of the half slightly marred their efforts. The much-maligned midfielder received a booking as a result.

After surviving the storm at Selhurst Park, Arsenal wins their stunning away debut.

The hosts got better at the start of the second half. Ben White played poorly, forcing Ramsdale to make a good one-on-one stop from Eberechi Eze.

Although Patrick Vieira's team had a commanding lead at the end of the game, they ultimately failed to break through the tenacious Arsenal defense.

Marc Guehi tipped Bukayo Saka's dangerous whipping cross into his own goal five minutes from time. On the first day, it was sufficient to secure an excellent away victory.

Jesus seemed as though he had something to prove, therefore he created all kinds of destruction throughout the game with his high-press from the center-forward position. He was successful in all six of his dribbling efforts and eight of his sixteen ground battle tries.

Pep Guardiola frequently put the 25-year-old on the sidelines at Manchester City, but he now appears to be positioned for a full season as Arsenal's starting number nine.

Three years after signing with the club, William Saliba, then 21 years old, had his debut Premier League appearance and was outstanding. This season, high hopes are placed on the French international center-back. While on loan at Marseille, he was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year in the previous season.

On his club's inaugural competitive outing, Saliba received the Man of the Match award. Following the game, most of the conversation among Arsenal supporters focused on his performance.

Here are some of the greatest tweets from Arsenal supporters who were largely ecstatic with their team's victory over their London rivals:
