2 local players and a referee caught in another betting scandal in Ghana by FIFA officials.

The betting scandals hitting the Ghana Premier League are not going down anytime soon. It is a very bad situation for the development of football in the country. The GFA is not doing enough to help curb this menace and nip it in the bud. The situation is embarrassingly getting out of hand.

According to sources, a team from FIFA and CAF has been dispatched into the country to help arrest the betting scandals and match-fixing that have dominated our football in recent times. Two premier league players and a referee have been caught having a betting history of the Ghana Premier League on their phones. Betting slips of other Ghana Premier League games were also found on their mobile devices by the team.

The two players who play for Berekum Chelsea and the referee have been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of investigations. According to available information, the FIFA/CAF integrity team raided the camp of Berekum Chelsea before they clashed with Accra Great Olympics. I am sure they did that based on a tip-off. Those in charge of our football have been exposed for their lacklustre approach to solving such a serious problem. They should be ashamed of themselves.
