Ghana Blackstars have won all their matches since Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac took over the role as the new coach. Indeed, prior to his appointment, CK Akonnor was leading the team and their performance was abysmal. Their games were nothing to write home about. Again, their scores were not impressive enough. This made Ghanaians express their anger and opt for a new coach.
Since Milovan took over, he has effected some changes to the team and today Ghana has won all matches under his leadership, subsequently qualifying us for the African Cup Competition with 6 points. So, I ask this question, can the Blackman ever rule itself? How come CK Akonnor failed to use these squad effectively like Milovan?
If you will recall, Milovan Rajevac is the same man who took Ghana to the world cup and nearly got us to the semi-final until striker Asamoah Gyan missed the penalty. He has started his work again and he appears very effective with his work. After he took over the team, he has given the young ones an opportunity to play. This time around, he benched Dede Ayew, something CK Akonnor would have failed to do. But this comes as no surprise because coach Milo benched Captain Stephen Appiah in the 2010 big games.
As a nation, we have to be serious and find a total finality to what causes our Black coaches to fail at their job. We need to promote our own and make them worthy for other important job roles outside Ghana. We cannot continue like this forever.
Congratulations Ghana Blackstars.
