This comes after the winner of the Ghana Premier League in 2021/22 handed in his resignation letter to the club in order to formally part ways with the Ghanaian champions.
Following an emergency meeting with the club management and Board of Directors via Zoom on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, Prosper Nartey Ogum decided to resign from the Kumasi-based club.
Meanwhile, the team's management and board members embarked on a series of engagements and consultations to persuade the coach to reverse his decision and remain with the club, but all efforts failed.
Regardless, after nearly a month of back and forth, Prosper Ogum handed in his formal resignation to Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Monday, August 15, 2022, making him a former coach of the side.
The former West African Football Academy (WAFA) tactician took to his official Twitter page shortly after his resignation to update his profile with the changes. "Ex-Head Coach Asante Kotoko." "Sports psychologist, educator, and University of Cape Coast lecturer."
It is also reported that salary arrears owed to Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, as well as bonuses for assisting the club in winning the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title, will be paid to him.
The Reds are expected to appoint a new coach by the end of this week, with former Burkina Faso coach Kamou Malo tipped to succeed Ogum.
