Man United: Cristiano Ronaldo says thanks to Edinson Cavani for giving him No. 7 pullover

Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the number seven shirt for Manchester United, the club has affirmed.

The 36-year-old takes the number, which he wore in his first stretch at Old Trafford, from Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani – who moves to number 21. Ronaldo will start preparing with the Reds when he has finished five days confinement.

On Thursday, he was delivered right on time from global obligation by Portugal in light of suspension.

"I didn't know whether it is feasible to have the number seven shirt once more, so I might want to say a colossal thank you to Edi [Cavani] for this extraordinary signal," Ronaldo said.
