Zlatan hits 500 goals milestone

It has been an illustrious football career for Zlatan Ibrahimovic since his first professional debut for Malmo in 1999.

Since then, the Swedish player has featured an amazing 825 games across Europe for different teams. He has won 8 consecutive league titles with five different clubs including Ajax, Juventus, and Inter Milan.

Now aged 39, Zlatan scored a brace to register his 14th goal in the league with just 11 appearances for Inter Milan as they gained victory against Crotone. This means he has now scored 501 goals in his entire career, joining a few elite players to reach that milestone.

"It's difficult to be surprised by Ibrahimovic," head coach Stefano Pioli said to FirstPost.

"To hold up at this level means you're an exceptional professional and he's helped by a physique that few have. He is a champion, an athlete who has great motivation, he takes care of his body scrupulously. Sometimes he is tired, but he never fails."

When asked what the milestone means to him Zlatan placed helping the team as the most important thing than the achievement.

"It means that I have scored a few goals in my career," said the Swede, who was substituted off with 15 minutes to go. The important thing is to continue to help the team in the best possible way. My job is to score and create situations to score," said Zlatan.
