Sergio Aguero has not played for some couple of months now after suffering from a knee injury, shortly after the project restart in June. Having been sidelined for so long, the Argentine was struggling to register his name back on Pep’s team sheet.
His manager knew how starting him will be effective than playing him on the bench but he took risk the to do so after his recovery.Gabriel Jesus who was seen as a potential replacement for the striker was also sidelined.
This changed the shape and dimension of the team and Pep had no option than to play force 9. Guardiola has started Raheem sterling as number 9 and his side performed remarkably this season. This brought to many the view that Aguero’s service wasn’t needed for time being.
Ilkay Gundogan, Sterling, Mahrez and City’s prodigy Phil Foden have all contributed to City’s success this season. Ruben Dias and John Stones partnership have also kept strikers from opposition teams at Bay.Their partnership this season has been tipped by pundits and fans as the best thing to happen to Manchester City this season.
Many believed Aguero’s spell at Man City is gradually fading out and big clubs will surely be in for his signature next season. Real Madrid,Barcelona,PSG and Inter Milan have all shown interest, but the big question is which club will be his next destination?
