Martha Quayson has disclosed that an impairment in one's ear can cause balancing problems and not only hearing loses.
As part of celebrating the World Hearing Day on the theme: 'Hearing Cares For All', which falls on every third day in the month of March, the ENT nurse in-charge at the Essam Government Hospital offered some education on the causes and some preventive measures we can follow to avoid ear impairment.
The ear is a vital organ as it helps us to better communicate with our fellow human and any dysfunction to it can greatly affect such an individual.
Appearing on Winners FM Morning Show host, she highlighted on some of the possible causes that can lead to hearing problem such as drug usage during pregnancy, an individuals occupation, thus for instance a chainsaw operator is at a high risk of developing ear dysfunction as well as accident, especially motor accident.
And stressing on some of the harmful effect it can have on the body, she revealed that a gross impairment to one's ear can not only make lose his/her hearing ability, however it also affect body balancing as he or she needs to adjust the body in other to see what is going on either beside or behind them since they aren't able to hear.
So in that effect individuals with ear dysfunction also loses their body balance to that effect.
