Let me focus on my National duty one thing at a time - Afriyie Barnieh

Afriyie Barnieh has done many benefit to the Accra Hearts of Oak fans and ask them to pardon him as he has a National duty and International contract to sign with the French League 1 side Amiens. Having progressed to the final, the Ghana U-20 team defeated their counterpart from Burkina Faso 2-1 last Saturday of the year in the finals to emerge as Champions of the tournament.

Hearts of Oak have through a post on their Twitter page applauded Daniel Afriyie Barnieh for playing a key role to help the national team lift the enviable trophy. Afriyie shot to prominence when he gained a call up into Ghana U23 team to begin preparations ahead of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Afriyie featured in the preparations of the Black Meteors where he impressed the technical handlers but ultimately didn’t make cut. Afriyie Barnieh who enjoyed a game of his life has shared his joy at winning what he refers to as his first ever trophy since turning a pro. “It’s a great joy, because Ghana has never won a trophy in the last 5 years. Personally this is my first ever trophy as a footballer. So I am very happy to achieve this,”. Barnieh and the rest of the team have arrived in Ghana and will resume training for the Africa Youth Championship next year.

We need to pray for the chap and the entire team to make the nation proud ones again since it has been a long time we won ourselves something precious. Let's wish him to go for gold and go higher in all aspect of his career. “We told ourselves that this final game was a make or break affair for us. We motivated ourselves that we needed this trophy to make a mark,” Barnieh added. On the other hand, the Phobian forward noted how much impressed he is with the crop of players in the Ghana Black Satellites camp.

“With what I have observed so far, I can confidently conclude that all the boys in camp are focused on the task ahead and, I am confident that we will return to Ghana with the trophy at the end of it all”.
