Who is Christophe Galtier ?

Christophe Galtier was born on 26th August 1996.He is s a former player of Marseille, Lille, Toulouse.He was a defender in his playing days. He spent fifteen years as a a player for in Marseille, four in France and one in Italy and China respectively.

COACHING CAREER.


In 1999 to 2004, he was the Assistant coach at Marseille and Aris Bastia. In 2009, he joined Saint Etienne when they were in danger of relegation following the departure of Alan Perrin. He guided them to safety during that season where they finished 17th.

Saint Etiene finished in top ten in the France Ligue in seven consecutive seasons during Galtier's tenure. He also helped them finish in four European Place. In 2013 he won Coupe de La Ligue against Rennes their first trophy in 32 years. He left 2017 when his contact expired.

He was appointed manager of Lille in 2017 when they were 18th place in the league. He avoided relegation by a position not in 2017 to 2018 season. He led Lille to second and qualified to the Champions League in 2018 to 2019 season.

He guided Lille to their first league title in ten years during 2020 to 2021 season. He left his role in 2021.

Christophe Galtier later moved to Nice in 2021 where he guided them to finish fifth on the table and lost the Coupe de France final to Nantes. He later guided them to qualify to the Uefa Europa Conference League play off. He then left Nice in 2022.

On 5th July 2022, Galtier was appointed as Paris Saint Germain manager replacing Pochettino.


MANAGERIAL ACHIEVEMENT.

Galtier won Ligue 1 Manager of the Year 2012 to 2013.

He also won the same award in 2018 to 2019 and 2020 to 2021.
