Frank Mbella Etuoga score as Asante Kotoko beat Accra Hearts of Oak- Match Report

Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League

Cameroonian sharpshooter Frank Mbella Etuoga scored the only goal to help Asante Kotoko overcome Hearts of Oak

After losing to Accra Hearts of Oak in the Presidential Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko started the encounter on a high note, preventing the Phobians from settling into the game.

The Phobians were unable to contain Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama, who broke into the Hearts' 18-yard box and was hauled down by Nurudeen Aziz.

Cameroonian sharpshooter Frank Mbella Etuoga stepped up with a well-drilled spot kick past Accra Hearts of Oak's safe pair of hands, Richmond Ayi, to break the game's tie.

After being pushed down by a goal, Accra Hearts of Oak rallied, but their efforts were in vain as the Porcupine Warriors held on to their defensive lines.

The Phobinans played their best game after a fair performance of terrific football between two great Ghanaian giants, but their strengths didn't match the hosts', and the scores at halftime remained 1-0.

Accra Hearts of Oak returned from the halftime break to launch series of attacks on Asante Kotoko defense to tie the game but the host's defensive line was too strong for the Phobians to break.

The host squandered few chances that came their way to double their lead. Hearts of Oak pulled a hope from the first half goal down to tie the game but couldn't do so after 90 minutes of great football.
