Pep Guardiola deployed a totally different tactical system in their match against Fulham using three center backs in a 3-5-2 formation
Manchester City won the match 3 : 0 at the Craven Cottage where key players like IIkay Gundogun, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Kelvin De Bruyne, Rahim Sterling were all not in the starting line-up.
In the first half, the system didn't work as Guardiola had anticipated as it hindered City's Tiki-Taka style but it was effective to stop the Fulham's counter attacks.
After the match, some football pundits were of the view that the 7 changes made the impact as City got help from the fresh legs.
John Stones who scored the first goal was quick to hit back at those critics who don't give Pep the respect and are always looking for a way out to discredit the master tactician.
