Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Player gives three positive attitudes of Coach Mariano Barreto

The first stint of coach Mariano Barreto is forever remembered in the Ghanaian game. When he was announced to be the gaffer of the Porcupine Warriors, it came as good news to many Fabulous fans.

One player who had a short stay with the coach has shared his experience by highlighting the qualities of the coach.

Isaac Amoako the former goalkeeper of Kumasi Asante Kotoko was called by Coach Mariano together with George Owu and Mohammed Alhassan when he first coached in ghana.

Unfortunately, the two goalkeepers to represent the nation were George Owu and Mohammed Alhassan. Eventually, Isaac Amoako was dropped from the squad.

Speaking to Sikka FM Sports, the goalkeeper had this to say about the gaffer;

"Firstly, he physically builds players up after he takes over a team. He makes players physically strong. When he came to U-20, I saw that our physique had developed. He always told us that if a player is fit, he can play over 90mins without getting tired. It is not surprising that he came with his physical trainer.

"Secondly, he had a good personal relationship with the players. He used to eat with us when we are in camp. He mingles with the players to make sure they are okay.

"Thirdly, he is a hard-working coach. If you are working under him, he will not give you the chance to be lazy."
