Accra Hearts of Oak appoints Serbian Slavko Matic as coach Samuel Boadu's replacement

Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak has appointed Slavko Matic as new head coach, replacing Samuel Boadu who was sacked a couple of weeks ago.

The 46-year old former defender, has signed a two-year deal with the Phobians, and he will be in charge for the reminder of the season.

Coach Matic, has a tough job on hand in trying to get the capital club back to their former glory after some uneasy calm in their camp recently.

Accra Hearts of Oak, were kicked out of the CAF Confederation Cup competition last Sunday after losing to AS Real Bamako of Mali.

This setback, has turned heads at the club with the board and management at loggerheads with the leadership of their supporters union, on how to move the club forward in the right direction.

This, coupled with their poor start to the 2022/23 football season, makes things cagey for the Serbian, who will have to turn things around quickly on the field of play to win the support of the fans majority of whom, are against the current leadership of the club.

Coach Matic, however, has been assured of the support of chieftains at the club, with Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV, saying Hearts of Oak will give him the needed support to succeed at the club.
