The Hearts of Oak striker alongside Bechem United forward, Augustine Okrah are part of coach Otto Addo’s squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers next month against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic in a two head clash. Karim Zito spoke to Gold TalkSport after the release of the 33-member squad.
“I will be surprised because when it comes to the local scene Afriyie Barnbieh stands tall in the striking department. “Almost every time, any match he plays you could see that either he assists or he scores and we also have to have confidence in what we are doing here. “We have to give them that opportunity and when we give them that opportunity it is good. “When I saw the squad I called him and told him that this is a big opportunity for you so never shake up, go there and prove that you deserve to be called so go there and make me proud and make yourself proud and make Ghanaian proud,” Karim Zito told Radio Gold TalkSport.
“It is not for you locally to become a regular player in the main Black Stars squad because there are a lot of factors but I trust those two selected are the right players for him (Otto Addo). “He knew what he saw before he invited them so it’s about taking your opportunity and when you take your opportunities, experience will not count again.” Karim Zito added.
