Accra Hearts of Oak SC will play CL Kamsar of Guinea in a single match at Accra Stadium on September 19, 2021. The winner of the draw will advance to the next stage of the 2021/22 CAF Total Energies Champions League.
The organizing committee for the event decided that in view of the political upheaval in the country, the game originally scheduled to be held in Guinea this weekend will not take place.
In a letter to the General Secretary of the GFA, Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq) regarding this situation, CAF cited the provisions of Articles 1 and 2.1 of Chapter XIII of the Competition Regulations, which stipulated that the following applies: "1, In In the event of events, war, force majeure or internal conditions of the country that may affect the security situation during the planning of the event, the organizing committee can take the following measures: 2. Two rounds of competition (local and visitor): 2.1 If the case only involves one country, the Federation, a home game will be played on the court of another country, or a game will be played on the opponent's court. When applicable, the organizing committee will determine the venue of the competition. "The winner of this unique game will be eligible to participate in the second round of the preliminary round of the game. If there is a tie at the end of the specified time, the winner will be determined to pass a penalty kick in accordance with the rules of the game."
