AFCON: How Host Nation Cameroon Will Line-Up Against Burkina Faso In Opening Game

The 33rd edition of Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations begins today (9/1/22) in Cameroon which is hosted by 5 cities. 24 Nation made it to Cameroon and are set to battle for one trophy at the end of the competition.

And speaking of that, host Nation, Cameroon is set to battle Burkina Faso today in the opening game of the competition. Without further ado, here's how the lineup will be.

Cameroon Portuguese coach, Toni Conceição is likely to name this squad against Burkina Faso.

Ajax Star, André Onana will be in the goal post for the Indomitable Lions. KAA Gent Star - Michael Ngadeu will partner with Nouhou Tolo, Harold Moukoudi, and Colins Fai who plays for Seattle Sounders (USA), Saint-Étienne, and Standard Liège (Belgium) respectively in defense.

Fulham star who is currently on loan with Napoli will partner Martin Hongla (Hellas Verona) and Samuel Oum Gouet (Standard Liège) in Midfield. The Attacking zone is going to be led by Lyon star - Karl Toko Ekambi, Nicolas Moumie Ngamaleu (Young Boys), and Vincent Aboubakar (Al-Nassr).

Burkina Faso, on the other hand, also has a strong squad ahead of this competition and are probably going to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Cameroon.

Hervé Koffi who plays his trade in Belgium (Standard Liège) will be in the goal post for the Stallions. 

In defense are; Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen) partnering with Issoufou Dayo (RS Berkane - Morocco) in the center back alongside Steeve Yago (Aris Limassol - Cyprus) and Issa Kabore (Troyes) occupying the left and right back positions respectively.

Gustavo Sangaré who plays his trade with France second-tier club - Quevilly will partner Ibrahim Blati Toure (AFC Eskilstuna - Sweden) in defensive-midfield leaving Cyrille Bayala (AC Ajaccio), Adama Guira, Bertrand Traoré (Aston Villa), and Mohamed Konate (Akhmat Grozny - Russia) in the Attacking role.
