Diawisie Taylor is Gone And Yaw Annor Has Also Left; Ghana Premier League Has No Future

Ghanaians do no longer need to be told that the Ghanaian top flight league, Ghana Premier League has failed and do not have a sustainable future plans.

A league that wants to be competitive in its region should at least keep some of its key players in their league. But in the Ghanaian Premier League we do not see these things. Players with talents and can take their clubs and the league to places such as Africa and the world get sold.

This has been the other of the day since time immemorial. Ghanaian top players are always sold and one of the main reasons is because of money ( poor salaries). The players are not paid better and so whenever there are offers abroad they have no option than to leave. The managers of these clubs do not pay them well and since these offers will give them a better future, then why should they stay.

About two years now several key players have left the league, the likes of Kwame Opoku, Diawisie Taylor and and just this year Yaw Annor also left the league.

One thing that has been noticed is that, only the best and key players are taken away from the Ghanaian league to other European and African leagues.

Kwame Opoku was a key player for Asante Kotoko but the striker was sold to USM Algiers. A club fighting with Kotoko and other teams for the CAF champions league and CAF Confederation cup.

Former Karela United striker, Diawisie Taylor was the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier league top scorer. He was also signed by an Egyptian club Future FC last season. Future have strengthened their team and will keep this player to help them fight for trophies.

And the signing that is even a big blow to the Ghanaian Premier League is yaw Annor's move to Ismaily. Ismaily is also an Egyptian club. Yaw Annor joined the club in a $200,000 transfer fee from Ashanti Gold.

Yaw Annor was the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier league top scorer with 22 goals but now he is gone. How can this league be competitive if all their top scorers are sold every year? The league has failed and needs to be restructured.
