Ghanaian Supporters Under Attack As Ghana Beats Nigeria To Qualify For World Cup 2022

Ghanaian Supporters in the stands at the Mashood stadium in Abuja, Nigeria are currently under attack and had to be isolated from the Nigerian fans after Ghana beat them on away goals to qualify for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

The first leg kicked off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in Ghana last weekend which resulted in a goalless draw. Nigeria failed to score in Kumasi meaning a 1 all draw or a win from Ghana will give them the ticket to the Qatar World Cup later this year.

The second leg took off earlier today, Ghana got the opening goal kind courtesy Arsenal's Thomas Partey, Nigeria equalized from the penalty spot.

However, after the final whistle, Ghana qualified on away goals which takes them through to the world cup in Qatar.

Scenes from the stadium after the match was unbearable as Nigerian fans continue to destroy items and attack Ghanaian fans.

In my opinion, this is just a qualification match, a game of chance unfortunately between two sister countries. It's quiet unfortunate Nigerian fans took this step but we continue to preach peace.

Nigerians should support Ghanaians to succeed at the World cup regardless the result of today's game.

Let's go Ghana, let's go Nigeria.
