Meet Africa's most powerful man. Setting a new record (watch)

Cheick "Iron Biby" Sanou (Cheick Ahmed al-Hassan Sanou) is a powerful guy from the Burkina Faso city of Bobo-Dioulasso. He is the World Log Lift Champion in 2018 and 2019, and he owns the Guinness World Record for the most overhead presses (per person) in a minute.

Cheick Sanou was born in Burkina Faso and was bullied at school as a large child. He was given the nickname "Biby" at a young age. Sprinting, gymnastics, and basketball were among his early passions. He began weightlifting at the age of 17 while attending college in Moncton, Canada.

Biby joined and won his first powerlifting competition at the age of 21 in 2013. He said that his nickname evolved to "Iron Biby" after his strongman victories.

At the age of 22, he won the World Powerlifting Championship (junior class) in both bench press (217.5 kg) and deadlift (307.5 kg).
