“We Gave a Good Fight in Tamale” - Former Kotoko Coach

Legon Cities FC put up a brave fight to secure an important point against premier league returnees, Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday.

The Royals fought from a goal down to hold “The Pride of the North” to a 1-1 draw in match day 19 to keep drifting farther from the relegation zone. Hearts of Oak loanee, Issah Kuka found RTU’s opener with Mohammed Suleman pulling parity for the visitors. The draw is Legon Cities’ third time in five games where they have clawed two wins in the process to amassing 23 points in 10th spot.

Head coach Maxwell Konadu was elated at the energy exhibited by his charges. “We gave a good fight. I am so so proud of the performance of the lads today. “Remarkable, absolutely remarkable. I love the fighting spirit.” Maxwell Konadu said.

Legon Cities FC have now collected five wins, eight draws and six defeats this season. Their next stop will be at the Accra Sports Stadium in week 20 against second place, Great Olympics on Sunday, March 13.
