Hearts of Oak Legend Appointed as Black Starlets Assistant Coach

Former Accra Hearts of Oak captain, Jacob Nettey has been given a national team appointment by the Ghana Football Association.

Jacob Nettey won the CAF Champions League with Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2000 edition of the competition and went ahead to claim the 2001 CAF Super Cup.

The Phobians defeated Egyptian giants, Zamalek to claim the CAF Super Cup in 2001, making it a continental treble that season after earlier winning the domestic league and the CAF Champions League.

Jacob Nettey played a key role in that title winning streak and he has been rewarded with the appointment as an assistant coach of the national under 17 male team.

He will assist experienced coach, Abdul Karim Zito alongside another ex-Accra Hearts of Oak winger, Laryea Kingston.

The two ex-Ghana internationals are expected to provide Abdul Karim Zito with the necessary experience to help reshape juvenile football in Ghana.
