Ashgold has been a club who is next to Kotoko and Hearts of Oak when it comes to coaches selection and replacement. In some time ago, they have been signing all Serbian trainers round but the situation has always been the same. The beginning looks impressive but later on everything turns upside down with a whole lot of excuses in their clauses on the contract. Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE SPORTS have it that Ashantigold FC has penciled 14 players for exit. Coach Zladan Lugarocic selected the affected players and has even sent the list to management. The Serbian coach is of the opinion that the listed players would be surplus to requirement next season. Management has agreed to the coach's request of sacking the 14 players but has decided not to disclose the names until the season is over. AshGold FC has terminated the contract of Serbian trainer, Milovan Cirkovic after three months.
The 57-year-old trainer was relieved of his duties as the head coach of the Miners after a meeting with the club’s president, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong on this past January, Tuesday morning.
The UEFA License ‘A’ holder was appointed late last year following the departure of Italian gaffer Roberto Landi in 2020. Cirkovic joined Ashantigold ahead of 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season but the Serbian gaffer is reported to be unhappy and has left the club due to personal reasons. Former BA United Chief Executive Officer took up the position in May 2020 after a new management was unveiled. But the reason for his sack is currently unknown. Arthur is a renowned football administrator in the country and has worked with a number of clubs. Arthur was in contention for the Central Regional Football Association Chairman, a position he missed out. Ashgold represented the country in the 2020/21 Caf Confederations Cup campaign. The Miners will also begin their Ghana Premier League season with a game against Karela United at the Len Clay Stadium. Coach Duah was appointed following the sacking of long-standing trainer Yakubu Mambo after their 6-1 loss to West African Football Academy in the Ghana Premier League match week 12 last weekend.
how could loosing to a club just one match become ba problem for a coach sack. In sometime past the decision to reach a well respected position lies on the players and the little that the coach will be adding to them. Some time ago, the club showed some respect to local coaches when they also proved adamant to the management of the club when C.K. Akonnor left the club for Kotoko. The behaviour of the fans of the Obuasi based club comes following their issues with the club's President Dr. Kwaku Frimpong on the current shake up exercise in the technical team. It took the intervention of the Ghana Police at Obuasi to avert what could have been physical attacks on the 41-year-old as fans beseiged the main gate of Ofori Park training complex in Obuasi. "It is confirmed a section of our supporters went to the training grounds to chase out new assistant coach Thomas Duah. They gave a prior notice to him(Thomas Duah) not to dare go to the training grounds but he defied our order and went to the training grounds but what happened was an eye saw." Ashanti Gold supporters chief Frederick Ansah narrated on Kumasi FM
