Marvelous Marvin Hagler, arguably one of the best middleweight fighters passed on on Saturday, after succumbing to chest pains and double breathing. His death came as a shock to the world and the boxing fraternity, after his wife posted on Hagler's official page that, his husband has passed on unexpectedly. It still remains unclear as to what actually caused his sudden death.
Marvellous Marvin Hagler needs no introduction as far as his boxing legacy and repertoire is concerned. He was an undisputed middleweight champion for 7 years, thus from 1980 to 1987. Hagler was a formidable challenger in boxing's greatest 4-way rivalry dubbed, the fabulous 4, which included Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard, who fought each other throughout the 1980's.
Hagler only lost three 3 times after 67 fights. However, he retired from boxing in 1987 and starred in a couple of movies in the US and Italy. His sudden death thrashed wide the floodgates and within was a torrent of condolences from his fans all over the world. He was survived by his second wife, Kay Guarrera Hagler and his five children.
