The Sad Reason That Left Alisson In Tears After Scoring The Winner For Liverpool Revealed

Alisson Becker became Liverpool's hero in the dying seconds of their match against Westbrom, scoring to keep the Red's European dream alive. A moment that left Alisson Becker in tears for his touching reason. It was the most beautiful moment in the footballing weekend. Alisson Becker saved Liverpool in the last minute scoring an incredible header in the 95th minute of the game. One that left Alisson in tears, hugged by everyone putting Liverpool just one point away from Top 4. When the final whistle came, emotions took over. Alisson was crying and he explained himself in his post match chat.

He was thinking of his father Jose, who died in February. "I'm too emotional this last month, for everything that has happened with me and my family. But football is my life. I played since I can remember with my father. I hope he was here to see it, I'm sure he is celebrating with God at his side". Jose Agostinho Becker drowned on the family's ranch in February. His tragic death was made worse by Covid travel restrictions. Alisson was unable to properly say goodbye to his father.

Sunday's goal was a gift of fate for the Brazilian goalkeeper especially after the disappointing season he's had with Liverpool. Liverpool have disappointed in 20/21 season. Injuries, poor form and badluck, even Alisson was affected by it. Sunday's corner was a revenge for Alisson becoming the first goalkeeper to score for Liverpool in 129 years. It's one of those moments that football fans love but the goal itself is something that left people talking too.

Now Alisson belongs in an elite club, goalscoring goalkeepers. Only 6 goalkeepers have scored a premier league goal so far. Peter Schmeichel scored a volley for Aston Villa in 2001, Brad Friedel scored from open play for Blackburn in 2004, Paul Robinson scored a fluke 75yard goal for Spurs, Tim Howard scored from his own box for Everton in 2012, and Begovic scored a golazo with the help of the wind in 2013 and now Alisson is part of Premier League history.
