Hearts of Oak Punish Accra Lions Heavily in Week 7

Accra Hearts of Oak made light work of one of their city rivals, Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday in week eight of the premier league.

The Phobians started the season on a bad note after picking just two points from their opening five games of the league season.

The Phobians under Samuel Boadu suffered bad results and that cost Samuel Boadu his job with Serbia trainer, Slavko Matic taking charge.

Hearts of Oak faced off with Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday and they gave a sterling account of themselves.

Captain of the club, Gladson Awako scored a sublime finish outside the box to put the 21 time champions ahead in Accra.

As the game wore on, talismanic midfielder, Salifu Ibrahim doubled the lead from the penalty spot to put the game beyond Accra Lions.

Seidu Basit pulled one back for Accra Lions to put the game at 2-1 with 80 minutes played.

Former Samartex winger, Benjamin Yorke made the score line 3-1 with an assist from goalkeeper Richmond Ayi.

The win makes it four games without a defeat under the new Serbian coach Slavko Matic who has transformed his side in the last few months of taking charge.
