Kotoko On Track To Retain GPL Title

Despite a shaky start to their season by losing to RC Kadiogo in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League, Kotoko remains on track to retain their title this season.

The Kumasi based club were tipped to be in the group stages of the CAF Champions League after what seemed a favourable draw. But issues off the pitch as well as the integration of new players are some of the few reasons that could have stopped their success.

Regardless, Kotoko have shown that they are still a force to reckon with on the scene. The Porcupine Warriors produced an impressive performance against a well experienced side of Accra Hearts of Oak and despite the results, the players would be happy to have walked away with a point.

Kotoko also showed their strength by handing a first defeat of the season to newcomers Nsoatreman FC. Their pattern of play in the game was beautiful to watch and it indeed reflected less on the scoreline although they won the game by 2 goals to 1.

The Porcupine Warriors will face their city rivals King Faisal next in the Ghana Premier League and will hope to extend their unbeaten run.
