The love-hate relationship which exists between two of the most entertaining boxers in the country, Bukom Banku and his friend and foe Ayittey Powers seems to have spiraled to the negative side again. It would be recalled that, prior to the 2020 election and some time even before, the two boxers cum entertainers seemed to have smoothen the hitherto rough relationship they experienced especially after the two acclaimed bouts some years back which Bukom Banku won. It however seems this new relationship has hit a snag as the two boxers have resorted to name-calling and mudslinging each other with unprintable words.
It is not obvious what might have triggered this new rift but in a social media post, an incensed Bukom Banku is seen calling on boxers to advise Ayittey to desist from drunkenness and gluttony he exhibits wherever he goes thereby tarnishing the image of all the boxers.
In a reaction video, an angry Ayittey Powers, questions the basis on which Bukom Banku makes such assertions. He then goes ahead to launch a scathing attack on Bukom Banku with unprintable words. He asserts that he has achieved a lot and lives a better life than Bukom Banku, even going ahead to state that the furniture in his room can afford to pay for Banku’s rent.
He goes further to show the furniture in his room and even portraits of his wife, saying that his wife is of a better class compared to the irresponsible girls Banku moves around with.
As to whether this banter is real or planned, only time will tell.
