Top 4 Countries that are likely to win the next AFCON, find out where Ghana is placed (Opinion).

With just few months to the commencement of the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon which is slated for January 2022, we take a look at the countries that are favorites to lift the trophy.

Below are the list;

#4. Cameroon

Host nation, Cameroon cannot be overlooked in any Afcon tournament as favourites. The home support alone is a plus to them and also with a very young and energetic squad.

Their U-20 did well in the recent U-20 Championship in Mauritania where Ghana won the trophy. Son of legendary Samuel Etoo featured in the tournament. They also have players like Vincent Aboubakari.

#3. Egypt

The Mohammed Salah effect cannot be over ruled in addition to the dominance of Al-Ahly in the CAF Champions League. Egypt is the county with most Afcon glories as they dominated in the era of Mohammed Aboutrika and the rest. El-Hagazi is also another top player we can't ruled out. They recently sacked their coach and appointed former Real Madrid Coach Carlos Q.

#2. Algeria

Ismael Slimani and Riyad Mahraez are the front runners for the North Africans. They are currently the champions of Africa with 29 matches unbeaten. They have an experience squad and players who plays at the top level. Going to the tournament with such an incredible record, they remained as favorites for the tournament.

#1. Senegal

Sadio Mane, Eduard Mendy, Khalidu Koulibaly and a whole lot of quality players makes the Senegalese as top favorites. It is of no doubt that they have the best African Goalkeeper, Defender and an attacker in addition to an experience coach. Without any unforseen circumstance, Senegal is the county to win the AFCON.

For the Black Stars of Ghana to come near the trophy, they must get an experience good Coach who can work without any interference from the Government and Ghana Football Association.
