On Sunday, Manchester United will travel to Stamford Bridge to face current league leaders Chelsea in their Premier League matchday 13 fixture, manutd will hope to revive their season after a bad run of games. They will also be looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Villareal in the Champions League in Michael Carrick's first game in charge.
This is a different manutd and we all know what happens when teams change managers. Therefore we are going to witness a totally different Manchester United team that played Watford last weekend
These are the reasons why I think Chelsea will not win despite their devastating form coming Sunday.
1. Manchester United players will want to prove their worth to their new manager Ralf Rangnick
Ralf Rangnick may not be in charge of the game against Chelsea on Sunday due some paper works and some final details which may take some time. But his imminent appointment will have a big influence on the players especially the few players who believe they deserve better than how they were treated under the previous manager. Every player will want to fight for a place in Ralf’s team and this game seems to be a perfect one to win the manager ‘s trust. Expect the best performances from the Red Devils' stars, who will be aiming to take all three points at Stamford Bridge. Jadon Sancho, who scored against Villareal in midweek, will be looking to cement his place in the starting lineup, while Van De Beek, who also started against the Spanish club and impressed, will be looking to do the same.
2. Manchester United has a great record against Chelsea in the EPL.
Over the years the premier league has proved beyond doubt that when it comes to big games and derbies, form may not always be enough
United are unbeaten in their past six Premier League meetings against Chelsea, winning four and drawing twice at home and away last season, indicating they will go into this match with a high level of confidence.
3.The Christiano Ronaldo Factor.
Chelsea have one of the best defense in Europe this season with their team conceding very few goals. That’s not to even add the impeccable form of their shot stopper Edouard Mendy.
However Christiano Ronaldo has proved to be the kind that enjoy scoring against a defense that seems to be unbreakable.Doin so against Athletico Madrid as well as Juventus in the past few years
He has shown how dangerous he can be in the final third when given the slightest opportunity.
4.The absence of Ben Chilwell and Ngolo Kante.
Last Tuesday against Juventus, the Chelsea left Back Ben Chilwell picked up an injury of which his returned date is unsure as at now but it’s comfimed he is not going to partake in the Sunday clash against Manchester United and of course Chelsea are going to miss their in form left back.
You can make an argument that Chelsea have an equally good player in Marcos Alonso but the speed and contributions Chilwell add to the Chelsea team in my opinion can not be compared to that of Alonso. Defensively too Marcos Alonso is not the player I think you would want to field against an experienced and electrifying Manchester United attack.
Ngolo Kante is a major doubt for the game and we all know what a huge miss that could be
In conclusion, despite their present bad form I strongly believe heading into this game, Manchester United will rise to the occasion and cause a massive upset against Chelsea on Sunday.
