Christiano Ronaldo became the first billionaire footballer in 2020. This doesn't mean he is the best paid football player in the world. Which Player earns the highest amount in a year?
With $33.3 million income, Mbappe is the 10th best paid player in the world. This includes his salary ($24 million), bonuses and advertising revenue. But Paris saint-Germain will have to give him more to keep him there.

With $38.4 million, Rahim Sterling finishes 8th in the ranking. No Manchester City player is as highly paid.
Just in front, the surprise entry Andres Iniesta scrapes ahead with $40 million per year. At 36 years old, he is well paid by Vessel Kobe and still does commercials.
In 6th place, we find Eden Hazard and his $41 million per year. Real Madrid gives him $24 million a year, Nike does the rest.
Antone Greizmann gets $43.7 million, thanks to FC Barcelona and the sponsors. His current salary is less than what he earned at Atletico Madrid. But Barça Promised him an evolving salary over 5 years. On average, he will be paid $24 million a year by the club.
In the 4th position is, Gareth Bale with $44 million in earnings. Bale even has the same salary as Hazard but better advertisement deals.
Neymar Jr unsurprisingly takes the third place on the podium. The Brazilian earns $108 million a year, including $41.8 million from Paris saint-Germain FC. Nike and Redbull also pays him generously.
Christiano Ronaldo is the second highest paid player in the world. The Portuguese earns $134 million from his Juventus FC contract. His numerous other sponsors allow him to get even richer.
But not as much as Lionel Messi! with $149 million collected a year, the Argentine is untouchable. He should soon become the 2nd footballer to hit a billion earnings. The details of Messi's 2020 earnings are very hazy.
